An Illustrated talk by Dr Jim Berrow at Christ Church, Cheltenham: “Elgar, An Enigmatic Architect, and the Organ of All Saints’ Church at The Wyche, Malvern” was given at Christ Church, Cheltenham.

Dr. Jim Berrow is a life-long enthusiast for Bach and new music. He has produced music and arts programmes for television and now writes, edits and lectures on architecture and the history of the organ. He was a contributor to the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, is an honorary research fellow of the University of Birmingham and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Much of his time is involved with historic building conservation, and he chairs the Birmingham Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches and is a lay assessor for the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC RIBA). Dr. Berrow gave the talk at the Organ Festival 2015, stating trenchant views on organs, organ builders, organists and organ conservation.
