On a warm summer’s evening I cannot think of a better way to relax than attending an organ recital by five of our student organists in the magnificent setting of Gloucester Cathedral.
Around forty people attended, friends, parents, relatives and some of our members. This was the second year that we have been fortunate to have this recital in the Cathedral, with its stunning organ and very generous acoustics, every organists’ dream!
The students are at various stages in their musical development and having attended the recital last year, I must say that this year’s recital was impressive, both in interpretation and performance. This event is a wonderful occasion for our students however, due to a prior engagement, Ben Gilchrist was unfortunately not able to be with us this year. Our very grateful thanks go to Jonathan Hope and the Cathedral
Tuba Magna, Gloucester.
